I've been reading about how to build things.
I'm starting a list of projects that I want to undertake, but which are super unimportant:
Telephones and switchboard
Remote control autogyro
Full sized autogyro
Most of these things I should be able to make in a weekend, provided I have the appropriate tools and raw materials.
Some of them will take years.
It's difficult to tell the difference at a glance.
In all seriousness, I have a few projects for the Makerspace that are entirely practical and are just the realizations of things that I've been working on for a while.
But when I'm done with those things, it's time for full on Tesla/Edison experimental mode.
We'll make lightbulbs and gemstones and flying machines and no one will stop us.
@ajroach42 tesla coils are really fun and extremely rewarding projects, and surprisingly approachable depending on what type you want to build
@ajroach42 You might want to skip the bit where they're still cleaning up the containments 80 years later. Manchester were still cleaning up after Rutherford in 1999.
@penguin42 I think we know a bit more about how to deal with this stuff safely// which stuff is actually dangerous to human health today, but you're right that we need to keep this in mind, and build on a foundation of health and safety.
