So I'm watching an old re-run of Nitro, and thinking about what a trick it was that the NWO storyline managed to rally fans, pretty much universally, around the four horsemen.
They had a reputation as the dirties players in the game, and they were the post NWO heroes.
If Bischoff had been able to follow through, keep Jeff Jarret around, and push for a reformed WCW with Sting, Page, and Jarret as the face, it would have been a real contender to survive.
But Thunder was a mistake, and the stories got stupider from there.
