Hi Folks, my good friend @CaptainUnderpants is looking to #selfpublish a #book of #photography
Who are your favorite #POD/#PrintOnDemand houses for full color/odd sized work?
@CaptainUnderpants I've only ever ordered paperback, so I can't speak to that.
I could have sword I'd done one that was wider than 8.5, but I could be mistaken.
Look at lulu next. They are who I end up using most of the time.
I know that there are also #photobook specific options out there, but I haven't used any.
I did a calendar at Lulu. It came out good.
Does anyone else have any experience with #lulu for publishing #books of #photography?
@hairylarry @CaptainUnderpants I have also had good luck with Lulu, but I've never done full color.
@ajroach42 @CaptainUnderpants
The full color calendar photos looked really good.
Here's the webpage with the photos. Live music publicity shots.
@ajroach42 @hairylarry @CaptainUnderpants Not for photography but I use them for the paperback versions of my novels
Cappy and I did a poetry comp, and I do my quarterly fiction magazine through them.
I've been surprised and pleased by their work so far, but I don't know about their color/photography work.
I think I'm going to make Ryan do a test order through lulu and go from there.
@ajroach42 @CaptainUnderpants test order is the best plan
@ajroach42 Createspace doesn't allow a lateral dimension greater than 8.5", I could rotate the axis/spine of the project but that seems like the worst user experience imaginable. They also only do paperback? Def need another option.
Onward.
