Please recommend to me more people to follow who talk about music and old technology and vintage scifi and maybe text adventure games?
It's hard to find new people on a small instance, so boosts and replies are welcome and encouraged.
The only one thing you needs to know about text adenture games is that you are likely to be eaten by a grue.

I don't tho. I'm trying to get into music production with only FLOSS software but haven't even started composing a single track – mostly just trying to get a feel for how to manipulate sounds with the tools I have access to (and sometimes try to get new tools to compile on my FreeBSD). :P

@phryk @ajroach42 least you have idea of what to do with these tools. When I tried playing around with LMMS, I was like... ok, I have all these knobs and know what they do, but... what do I do with them? I don't know what sound I want to make...
I know a bunch of sounds I want to make, but have am still mostly failing at producing those. :P
I can heartily recommend Ardour and especially the calf plugin suite which comes with fancy custom UIs for all its parts (synths, filters, compressors, most of what you need, really) – and having tried to get into FOSS audio production a few times over the years I know that it used to be extremely painful.

@ajroach42 I'm obsessed with retro keyboards. Hammond B3, Fender Rhodes, Wurlitzer, Vox Continental etc. I'm not a prolific tooter, run a small instance for the heck of it, but if you ever have a hankering to discuss vintage keyboards, I'm your man / person.

The other day, I did read about something called a ‘novachord’ I think? Polyphonic synth from the 1940s. Wild stuff.
