Hey #hypercard folks: is it normal for HyperCard to take Forever (like 45+ seconds) to automatically animate a thing if I click next or trigger a button, but take very little time to transition cards if I just hit the arrow key?
This was in basilisk II, emulating a system 8 machine.
In sheepshaver, on a system 9 machine, the same transition is so seamless as to be almost too fast.
I would expect performance to be worse on a 68k mac, but this seems a little extreme.
@ajroach42 from my extremely fuzzy memories of the period around 1989 - 1994, that sounds kinda glitchy.
@brennen The only reason why I'm thinking it might not be a glitch, honestly, is that I'm using the 1998 version of hypercard.
I'm going to try and download an earlier version, and also try miniVmac and see how it goes.

If it’s normal, that’s fine. I’ll live with it.
If it’s a problem with my emulation, I’ll switch to sheepshaver and PPC and system 9.
I just gotta know.
