It looks like there are pidgin plugins. (github.com/dequis/purple-faceb looks promising.

github.com/dylex/slack-libpurp significantly less so.)

Now to find out if either support finch.

Just to sum up. 1) Facebook broke the law. 2) Cambridge Analytica broke the law. 3) Vote Leave broke the law. 4) LeaveEU broke the law. 5) Brexit and Trump were both won through breaking the law. 6) Facebook let it all happen and covered it up. theguardian.com/technology/201

is there a plugin for finch/pidgin for slack? Zoom? FB Messenger?

or a standalone terminal app that doesn't require node?

Aside from that minor hiccup (which might have also been Zoom's fault. I'll find out in a minute) this machine has been an absolute treat to use.

I don't love the direction Gnome has moved, but I can work with it (and customize it) or just get rid of it.

It's so nice to be back to using a linux box on a regular basis, and one with a little bit of actual power for the first time ever.

I'm listening to Horace Heidt (and he does a decent Bing Crosby impression)and in this song he just said "Don't tell a lie about me dear, and I won't tell the truth about you.

Okay, so pureOS just hung up on me.

That was a real surprise. I haven't had a linux machine completely hang in a really long time.

Saved a log output to dig through later, so I can figure out what to do next.

Why in the name of all that is holy can I not disable ctrl-q in firefox?

What kind of shit is this?

Tracking says my new laptop will arrive tomorrow!

Damn you Doctorow.

The Walkaway just resonates and resonates more.

You made a virus for us, and unleashed it upon our minds.

I wrote a blog post about palm pilots.

I haven't even spell checked it, and I'll probably do a second draft tonight or tomorrow, but the core points are out (and I'm a publish early and iterate often kind of guy)

This is just impressions that I have had from using a palmOne computer regularly over the last ~2 months.

With reference to the Palm Pilots: if anyone has tips on
1) networking/web browsing/gopher
2) Bluetooth audio
3) Bluetooth keyboards
4) wired keyboards
5) optimal settings for video encoding
6) general palm pilot tips

I’d appreciate them.

I’m looking for public domain comic books in a venue that allows me to batch download.

I usually use comic book plus, but they limit you to one download every two minutes.

I could bypass that, but I’d rather not.

I have a thing I’m working on that would be easier if I could pre-download all the comics I want to use, in a batch while I’m doing other stuff.

Hey, any time there's a paywall on Public Domain or otherwise legally free info, liberate it. Throw it up somewhere, put it on your favorite tracker, give it to all your friends. Punch a hole in that boat.

The internet at this coffee shop stops working any time someone makes a sandwich/uses the oven.

It's super embarrassing, because it has happened two days in a row in the middle of my update during our standup.

I'm really ready to not be so broke that I can't afford to have the internet connected at home.

I get paid this weekend, so I should be able to get the internet installed next week, but until then it's pretty upsetting.

@ajroach42
I enjoyed this blog post. I wish a lot of the palm pilot functionality would have evolved into ereaders but it didn't happen that way.

Basically, a thinner eink palm pilot would be an awesome companion.

This is the second time a fitness tracker company has leaked the information of military personnel. The issue is bigger than one product and one category: data is precious and handled shoddily.
