Watching WCW 1996

Oh man, Jan 22nd 1996:

Savage v Flair - World Heavyweight Championship match

Hogan v The One Man Gang (current TV title holder, but not a title match)

Harlem Heat vs Sting and Lex Lugar - Tag Team title match

And then Konan shows up, in what is I think his first televised appearance, to hype a match against Psicosis for the Mexican heavyweight title?

Watching WCW (request)

If you have access to any archives or WCW from the 90s, specifically Nitro from 97-99, any Thursday Thunder or WCW Saturday Night, please share them with me.

I'll also take any 80s wrestling videos you have at all, but especially NWA stuff with the four horsemen.

I have all of 95 and 96 for nitro, and part of 97, but pro wrestling torrents are hard to find.

I don't think Harlem Heat is going to be on this episode, they're advertising them for Saturday Night, and I don't have Saturday night right now, but seeing the advertisement for a Harlem Heat match reminded me of this indisputable truth:

Booker T Huffman Jr deserves more respect.

Linux Audio question: I have a USB microphone that I have hooked up to my PC. My system detects it, but after a while will fail to pick up audio unless I unplug the mic and then plug it back in.

My question is, what is this, and why is it happening?

Sting is fighting rick flair, and keeps tossing in his own "Woo!"

Sting is, even at this realatively early point in his career, easilly the best wrestler they've had on the show tonight.

He outperforms Hogan, he outperforms Savage, he sells harder than Flair.

He's just such a performer.

Arn Anderson and every southern preacher in their 40s share an archetype.

Like, floptical is a heck of a concept, and I love it.

I don't have a good reason to use minidisk, but I think I'm going to.

They're busy, and I like them. I gave it almost twenty minutes, and they figured it out.

How long is it appropriate to sit at a restaurant waiting for service before you ask if you've been forgotten?

Forgot to take this picture before I went home last night. Quarter for scale. It is too small, but only just. I can probably finish this set and play a game on this before moving on.

@zee @ajroach42 @rgegriff now you've got me thinking about an overlay protocol for running a jobbing clearinghouse over MUD, where the coffeehouse would dispatch a job to the board for local transport and providers would take the bid and handle the transport and have it all be over protocols that an 8-bit compy could handle with ease

@djsundog @ajroach42 Metaverse can fuck right off; THIS is the future of embodied interfaces

This one is probably half the size I want it to be. It's going to be 1 foot square, and I think I want it to be two feet square.

Maybe the ideal size is actually somewhere in the middle?

Seems likely that I'll end up doing a couple of these, and designing pieces for them.

I'll make the files available publicly, of course, and probably also sell them on our website.

I've wanted to do a thud board for more than a decade.

14 years? I dunno, I was in highschool last time I tried.

I was going to sculpt the dwarves and trolls in sculpy and hand paint the stripes but I made the dwarves way too big and the board too small and ... Well, here we are 14 years later and I'm prototyping on our laser cutter.

Alright, I'm setting up our tilde, finally.

I think I've got the apache ./~ config figured out, I've done that half a dozen times before, but I need to remember how to set up local only email, IRC, and ... uhhh...

What other software and configs are essential for a tilde generally, and oen targeted at new users specifically?
