I wish the comics industry was less concentrated, and easier to break in to for independent creators.

I want a store full of alt comix and DIY art zines in every town.

Of course, Be The Change You Want To See In the World.

So I guess it's time for me to find a bunch of alt comix and art zines to print and sell at the makerspace.

Do you make (Open content/CC-BY, CC-BY-SA) comix, art, or zines you'd like for me to distribute to the punks and weirdos down here in the north GA mountains?

@ajroach42 I guess I should finally finish my rpg/art zine about VR hactivists in a 80s-esque dystopia.

Aimed at a very DIY approach, just black ink (no grayscale so it can be xeroxed easily), plan to print/xerox at home, add a single color cover and staple.

I think it would fit nicely with the local punks and weirdos ;)

@FredBednarski Oh I love that.

I have been thinking about doing up a Max Headroom\\News/Control RPG and in my head it has a very similar aesthetic.

@ajroach42 Thanks! Max Headroom is definitely one of the inspirations - along with many other tech/computer counter culture things from 80s & 90s.

Honestly, I just started going through scene demos, cracktros, .nfo files of scene releases and mashing it together with early computer art and glitch aesthetic to get the feel for what I want it to look.

I started it few years ago, but then covid happened and drained me of all creativity...

It's slowly coming back now.

@FredBednarski its been a hard time for a while, but I've also been moving faster recently. It's good.

@ajroach42 Glad to hear that :)

Honestly, seeing the progress on your makerspace and the projects you do with it was/is a bright light for me.

I dusted off my 3d printer probably after 2 years of not using it, because seeing all the cool stuff made me want to make stuff again :)

@FredBednarski I'm glad we can be an inspiration, the folks around me keep dragging me forward, too.

@ajroach42 I'm an archivist rather than the author of these zines but if any of these look interesting, I can validate their copyright position. nullbrook.org/books. I think nullbrook.org/book/ProcessedWo would be fun to bring back. I also have a ton of definitely-open-content anarchist zines that I haven't scanned in if that would be of interest. Pardon the slowness, the site is self-hosted.
