Got an excellent deal on some secondhand (but brand new) 40g Zeal 3-in-1 Clickiez switches. Just got done swapping them into my Ergodox Wireless, and these are really, really nice. Will have to give them a bit more of a workout, but they're cruising to favorite MX footprint switch so far.

They've got super thonky clicks and very crisp tactile feel, both things I really like. Very satisfying to type on.

They're 3-in-1 because you can open them up and rearrange the guts a bit to non-destructively turn them into a non-clicky tactile, or into a linear switch. I'll never, but, you can.

Previous switches on this board were Kalih BOX Jade, which these are almost definitely stealing the title of favorite MX switch from.

I'll have to compare to my Matias click keyboard, these might even give those a run for their money.

~2 week review of Zeal Clickiez switches: They continue to be excellent, and are now my favorite switch, period. I still prefer the sound of the Matias Click switches, but the light weight and crisp tactility of the Clickiez makes them feel like mush in comparison.

@ieure ooh, you might have sold me on new switches for my next build

@zzt Matias are still louder, but these have a similar crisp feel. Really happy with them, even more so at half off the normal price.

@ieure Now that sounds interesting. I'm disappointed in the Kalih browns I got with the #ZSAMoonlander that I use a work.

So I _would_ change the Zeal 3-in-1 Clickiez switches to silent tactile for my office work use-case, but if the clicky configuration is as good as you suggest, I might consider a second set for home use, where my Cherry blues are not exactly impressing, especially compared to my IBM model M... assuming compatibility.

Thanks for the tip, I might check them out.

@mcrocker I haven't tried the Kailh Browns, but I find plain Brown switches not tactile enough, generally.

I demoed some Kailh BOX Royals and thought they felt great at the time, very tactile, though (spec-wise) they're probably too heavy for me to daily-drive.

The Clickiez should be just as tactile with the click disabled, and I am *all about* the tactile feel and light weight. It'd be a lot to switch a whole board of them over, since they come in click mode by default.

My first build (10+ years ago now) had Cherry Blues, I desoldered & replaced them with Gateron Blues fairly quickly. For all the popularity of the MX footprint and stem, the actual Cherry switches aren't very good IMO.

@ieure got a link for the ergodox wireless?
